Overview
I've spent a lot of time on the streets, my whole life actually. I am a felon from my drugging days, I am clean now, and very very tired of the lifestyle. I am in a shelter now, with lots of roommates but I need to get a place of my own and I am not going to be able to do that until I have a job.
My one big huge goal is to get a job! I am doing a lot to make this happen but it seems like every time they do a background check on me and see my felony they never call me back. The whole thing ends and I feel lower than dirt. So I go to my addiction treatment place, Above and Beyond, where they talk me back into a decent mood and then we do the whole thing over again. I want to work. I want to be proud of myself. I want to have co-workers that I can work beside. I want to be able to look myself in the mirror. I want to pull my own weight.
I need CTA bus passes! I need an ability to go back and forth to my job interviews enough times for me to get rejected nineteen out of twenty times (it seems like) so I can get that ONE job where they give me a chance based on who I am NOW instead of who I was THEN. So that is my need. Two and a half months of bus passes so I can put myself in front of every employer in Chicago that I can find who will talk to me about giving me a job. It HAS to work!!
Meeting this need will help me because it will put me in front of enough employers that ONE of them will give me a job. That's all I need is for ONE of them to give me a chance. I get one transfer out of each ticket so it is $3.50 each ways (total of $7.00 per day), which would be five days a week ($35 per week) for ten weeks. I figure if I can hold up for ten weeks of getting rejected that there has to be ONE employer in there that will see me for the hard worker I am and give me a chance!

I have known Daniel as a patient at Above and Beyond. He has gone through one of the most miraculous recoveries I have ever seen. He came in suicidal and depressed, but now he is industrious and full of hope. He is a model patient.
