Christina from Eldoret, Kenya

I'm healthy, now I want to start a business so I can pay to send my kids to school.

I've received business training and have a plan to buy, transport, and sell potatoes. All I need is $250 for starting supplies to get started!

Christina says: "Grateful" Dec 18, 2020

I am grateful, grateful to you. Thank you for the help for my family. I want a good future for my children. God bless down on you.

I am a 45 year old mother of eight and fistula survivor. In 2015 I had a very difficult delivery and the baby did not survive. I was in pain and did not understand what happened, then earlier this year I learned I had fistula. I got surgery that repaired me and now I am dry.

My goals are to earn money with a potato resale business. I took a business training course with a group called Beyond Fistula after my surgery and I have started earning a bit of money this way. I want to expand my business.

I need $250 to buy supplies for my business, like crates and transport materials. Since I started earning a bit of money, my husband respects me a little more. I have been married to him since I was 15 and I am staying with him for our children.

Meeting this need will help me because I am finally healed and want to work to provide for my eight children. I already have the motivation and the education, and all that stands between me and earning enough for my children to go to school is $250 for supplies.

Thank you for helping Christina fund this need.

Christina is a fiercely strong survivor. She is deeply committed to her children and won't let anything stand in the way of her taking care of them. She is driven and ready to do the work to provide for them; I saw her work ethic in our business skills program. Beyond Fistula will continue to support her through the process of expanding her business and getting on her feet.
