Overview

I am a single parent who is receiving limited finances through DHS, as I was in a severe car accident in 2014 which left me with chronic back pain. I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis which inhibits me from being employed. I have applied for SSI and was denied. I am still trying to appeal this decision. My daughter is 15 years old and I support her on this limited finances that I receive.

Our goal is for my daughter to graduate from high and become self-sufficient. I am supporting my daughter as a single mother financially and emotionally on what I receive from DHS.

I need funds to repair my oven and stove. Due to my limited finances, I am unable to afford to buy "fast foods", but because my oven and three of my stove burners are not working, I am unable to cook nutritional meals for my family. I am only able to use one of my stove burners for cooking which prolongs the preparation of our meals.

Meeting this need will help alleviate the frustration of trying to think of ways to prepare healthy meals for my family without the use of my stove and oven. Nutritional meals are important for the wellbeing and health of my family and help my daughter stay focused in school.
