We just received an update on Sue: Jan 29, 2014
Emily, Sue's validator, just notified us that Sue received the boots and bus passes she needs to put her CNC machinist training to work! Thanks again to everyone who made this happen - We'll be sure to let you know as soon as she receives the rest of her gear!
Overview
I need CNC gear for my new future in the field. This includes Steel Toed Boots, Safety Glasses, Precision Measuring Instrument Kit and a few bus passes for my first month at work.
Meeting this need will help me because getting this gear will be very important and will lessen my financial burden of having to buy my own gear and transportation in the beginning of my new job.
If I do get what I am asking for, my future is very much my goal. Having this gear will make me feel more supported and confident when looking for a job.
My current situation is that I have no car so I rely on public transportation everywhere that I go. Also, I have three kids to take care of and two of them go to 2 different schools. It is difficult for me to get from multiple places with kids on public transportation.
I'm most proud of my kids and myself. We improve everyday in our life experiences. I have three kids, 6, 3 and 1 yrs old. My kids are very active and excited to learn and love computers!
I'm from Texas. I live on the Northside of Chicago.
I'm happiest when I've achieved something.
Something interesting about me is I enjoy music, style and pottery (the arts). I'm a very motivated person, and very thankful for what you may do for me!

We met about 9 months ago when Sue enrolled in our Manufacturing Bridge program. She is now in the advanced CNC Machinist program at JARC.
I think meeting this need is important because Sue is ready to start looking for CNC jobs and this gear will make her more confident to make that jump into the industry. Showing up feeling prepared to job interviews goes a long way in boosting self esteem!
Sue is a strong woman, proud mom and a dedicated student. I am confident she will start this career and succeed to the fullest!
