Overview
I am the first in my family to finish high school. My parents are not in a position to send me to college and no student loans are available in Sierra Leone. I thankfully am now computer proficient thanks to training provided by Develop Africa.
My goals are to start a desktop-publishing business in my community. There is a definite need for desktop printing and photocopying. I hope to also retake my end-of-year high school exams with the hope of getting the grades needed for college admission.
I need a laser printer, a laptop, desk, paper, and other supplies to start the business. Funds will also help me retake the exams and cover the fees of lessons to boost my chances of success.
Meeting this need will help me because it will move me one step towards independence and fulfilling my dreams. I will be able to take the exams and also start earning income. It will also put me in a better position to be of financial support to my younger siblings who at the moment face the prospect of dropping out of school.
