Sophie from Eldoret, Kenya

I need tuition and uniforms so that my kids can go to school & I can find work

Taking care of my children keeps me from working to support them. With help I can get them on the right track AND earn more for my family!

I am a 23 year old mother of three and fistula survivor. My husband and I do whatever work we can find - I wash clothes, he cuts grass - but often our family goes to sleep hungry. I got a fistula during my most recent childbirth and had surgery to repair it so now I am dry.

My goals are to get my kids into school so I can use the extra hours working for money. Right now I am caring for them all of the time and cannot earn money.

I need $300 for school uniforms, school fees, and food for my family.

Meeting this need will help me because when I can afford to send the two older children to school I will be able to work and earn to keep up their education. Right now I am stuck without enough money and I am always taking care of them because they are not in school.

Thank you for helping Sophie fund this need.

Sophie is a determined young mother trapped in a cycle of poverty. We met when she was treated for fistula at Gynocare Women's and Fistula Hospital. She is bright and driven, and desperately wants her children to have a good education. Beyond Fistula will support her as she gets her children into school and her family back on their feet.
