Overview
I am a United States Army veteran currently homeless and living out of a hotel. I have great pride in my service to this country.
My number one goal is stable housing, and from there, I hope to stabilize my health. I am an aspiring artist. I make dioramas showing Maine coastlines and other popular iconic locations, including Mark Twain's cabin and Jack Skellington's house from the famous Nightmare Before Christmas. This passion allows me to channel my energy while working with Fedcap and other partners throughout the state to obtain housing.
I want furnishing for an apartment, with things like linens, dishes, towels, warm clothing, and other necessities when that time comes. I would also like to purchase a few art supplies.
Your donations will help me continue my passion and help me with warm clothing for the winter in Maine and things I might need when I get an apartment.

We learned about Russ from an advisory board member of our veteran services. It started with the advisory board member seeing a news article from the Press Herald, a Maine-based paper.

After receiving word of the veterans, we quickly developed a workgroup and began outreach to our community. We then connected with the hotel and contacted the veterans, one of which was Russ. After meeting with Russ on more than one occasion, we developed a plan to assist him in his path to self-sufficiency. This plan involves working with local organizations such as Prebble Street and Maine Needs. Part of that plan includes leveraging the generous donations from you with the platform provided by Benevolent.
