Overview
I am a 27 year old single mother and a fistula survivor. In 2013, I labored with my son for three weeks. My family thought a woman should be able to deliver without help. By the time they brought me to the hospital, I couldn't talk or move. I had a C-section and Bryan was born. When I woke up, I was leaking and no one understood why. I was referred to Gynocare Women's and Fistula Hospital and learned I had an obstetric fistula. I got surgery to treat it in 2014 and now I am recovered. Bryan's father left me because of the fistula.
My goals are to earn a living as a caterer. In 2015, I went to school for catering and it is my passion.
I need $250 for a uniform, shoes, and catering supplies. Some supplies I need are trays and food storage containers.
Meeting this need will help me because I need to provide for myself and my son as a single mother. When I have my uniform and supplies, I can start my own catering business and earn a steady income for us.

Sophia is a fighter. Her labor story is heart-wrenching and shows the kind of determination she brings to everything. Sophia is a wonderful mother to Bryan and I fully believe in her ability to make a living for herself and him with her catering skills.
