Largeman and Duke say, "Thanks!" Mar 12, 2014

Overview

I need assistance with medical care and accessories for my service dog. This includes wellness checks, flea, tick, and heartworm medication, and overall health care from the veterinarian. I would also like to be able to purchase some accessories for him like a bed, kennel, toys, shampoo, brushes, etc.

My current situation is unemployed due to service related disabilities. I am in need of my service dog to help me connect to the community so that I can feel better and work toward my goals of school and employment.

My goal is to attend school and get a degree in film and educate people on PTSD and service related/connected disabilities. Duke helps me want to be a part of the community and become connected back to society.

Meeting this need will help me because when Duke is healthy and happy I am happy. He helps me want to go out in the community and achieve my goals.

Thank you for anything and everything that people are willing to help with.

I'm most proud of my military service. I'm from Georgia and I live in Charlotte, NC.

I'm really happy that I found Charlotte Bridge Home and Duke. Otherwise I would just be a recluse in my place and not talking to anybody. I'm happiest when me and Duke are with friends and family.

Something interesting about me is that when I was in high school I got the academic awards on all my sports teams.

We met when Largeman contacted our agency after being referred for services by his therapist.

I think meeting this need is important because Largeman has had a very difficult time reintegrating to civilian life after his service due to extreme symptomology from PTSD. He is working hard to overcome his barriers and become a healthy member of society.

Largeman is a very intelligent young man, with a sweet disposition and loving heart. He wants to be a part of his community again, and is working hard to overcome his fears and anxieties so that he can continue to SERVE in a different capacity.
