Candice from East SF Bay, CA

I’m a mother sharing one room with my kids. We need a deposit for our own apartment.

For nine years I have lived with my children in one room in my mother’s house. We now have an opportunity for our own place.

Thank you so much for funding Candice's need. She can now start focusing on finding a new apartment for her and her children

Overview

I'm from California and I live with my mother. Something interesting about me is that I can sing and dance to any kind of music. I'm happiest when everyone around me is happy. I'm most proud of my two daughters, ages 15 and 6.

I need deposit to move to a new place for myself and my two daughters. Meeting this need will help me because my kids and I will have our own place to live. I lived with my two kids in one room for over 9 years and by getting this new place my kids would have their own rooms and space.

My current situation is I am living with my mother and I just lost my job and I am currently on unemployment. I was told I have a chance to move to my own place but I need to pay a deposit to get the place. I can pay my own rent but I need the help to move in by getting help with the deposit. My goal is to get back into the work force and to go back to school. I have already put in three years of schooling and I will be done soon.

I have two daughters and both are doing well in school. My oldest daughter is 15 and is doing well in High school. Also my youngest daughter is 6 and is doing well and loves to dance as much as I do.

We met when Candice applied for subsidized care in 2012. I think meeting this need is important because she will be able to live on her own. She and her children now live with her mother. She has lived with her mother for nine years in a small house. She is staying in one room with her two children. Candice is a responsible working person. She is trying to make a better life for her children.
