Veronica from Chicago, IL

I'm ready to work, but I don't have a work visa yet. I need passports for me and my daughter

I need to get passports for me & my daughter so we can begin the U-Visa process. Then I can become legally employed and work to support my family.

Overview

I need to pay for my daughter's passport and mine.  Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to begin the U-Visa process to help me and my daughter.  Without the passports, we cannot start the process.  Meeting this need will help my family and me to ease some of the financial burden since things are tough right now.

My goal is to become legally employed once I receive the U-Visa so I can help my family move towards financial stability.

My current situation is that my husband is the only one that is working.  I just gave birth to our daughter and have not been able to find a full time job.  My husband's job is not enough to make ends meet sometimes due to having his hours at work reduced.

I'm from Mexico and I have been living here almost a decade with my husband and children.  I'm happiest when it snows because I like it more than summer.  I'm most proud of when I work and I'm able to help my husband with financial expenses and provide for my family.  I would like to find a full time job soon so I can help my family move forward towards financial stability.  Something interesting about me is I like to dance and I like to knit.

We met when Veronica was referred to me by her daughter's therapist about six months ago.

I think meeting this need is important because Veronica and her daughter will be able to begin the U-Visa process.  Without the passports, Veronica cannot start this important process.  Meeting this need is important because this will eventually lead to Veronica becoming employed and moving towards financial stability.

I enjoy working with Veronica and her husband.  They are trying very hard to make ends meet and provide the best for their family.
