BIG NEWS: Eddie is employed! Jun 13, 2014

Eddie just reached out with some INCREDIBLE news. He tells us:

I would really like to thank everyone who contributed to my cause. Your kindness has gone a long way. I have found full time employment & use my tools every day. I wish that I could thank all of you individually, but I hope that this will suffice. I can't express my gratitude enough. Thank you all so very much!

Overview

I need gear to start my CNC career. This includes steel toed boots and a digital metrology kit.

Meeting this need will help because this will better prepare me for interviews and to begin work once an opportunity presents itself. My goal is to obtain full time employment in the manufacturing field, my field of study. My other goal is to move out of the shelter and obtain my own apartment.

My current situation is I am currently unemployed, living in Lincoln Park Community Shelter, full time student in a CNC program and actively looking for work. For the past 10 years, my career has been in retail. I would like to switch careers to obtain more stability and higher wages in the long run.

I'm from Chicago and I live in the Lincoln Park Community Shelter. I am currently enrolled at Jane Addams Resource Corporation's CNC Manufacturing training program in hopes of changing career paths. I'm happiest when I achieve a goal I have set for myself. I'm most proud of my daughter for her accomplishments in college. Something interesting about me is I enjoy hiking, being outdoors, I am an avid reader and love to tinker around with the guitar.

We met when Eddie enrolled into the Bridge Manufacturing Training program to prepare him for the CNC Advanced Training program. Eddie works very hard and is now on his way to becoming a CNC Machinist.

I think meeting this need is important because Eddie is in a tough place right now with no income to purchase any gear to help prepare him for an interview or the job. This gear would help him feel more prepared and ready to take on a new job.
