Laniece from Evanston, IL

I'm a single mom and I need beds + clothing to pursue my goal of becoming a nurse.

I'm on the road to getting my life back in order. As I search for a job and head back to school, clothing for my son and a bed will get us started.

Clothes & furniture have helped Laniece and her sons move forward! Mar 16, 2016

Amazing news, Benevolent folks! Since her need was met, Laniece has been able to purchase furniture and clothes for her and her son. What's more, she's also recently completed a training program and received her Food Handler certificate. Way to go, Laniece!

Overview

I am a single mom going back to college. I'm looking for a job to support my one-year-old son.

My goals are to take care of my son and his needs. I plan on going back to school in the fall to become a nurse.

I need help getting my son and myself clothing and beds. I also need a stroller to transport my son to and from the sitter when I am looking for a job and attending school. I have gone through a lot over the past year, but feel that I am on the road to getting my life back in order.

Meeting this need will help me because I can feel confident that I am well rested and dressed for upcoming interviews and my son is taken care of while I'm out interviewing for my new position and going to school.

I have been working with Laniece for a year and a half. I am her home visitor. We work together on her son's development and many other parenting issues. I also work closely with her to find needed resources in our community. Although Laniece was homeless she still worked closely with me over the past year. I've never seen her down, only determined to get a safe place for her and her son to live. Now that she has done that she could use your help to get the necessities that will help her to move forward in going back to school and getting the job she so desperately wants and needs.
