Michael from Chicago, IL

I'm a veteran on my way to becoming a welder. I need work gear to secure a job.

My goal is to be a full-time welder. Owning my own welding gear will demonstrate to potential employers that I am dedicated to my career.

Overview

I am a proud veteran, and a proud father of 3 grown daughters. My oldest is a computer programmer, another runs her own day care center, and my youngest just graduated from high school.

My goals are to finish the welding training and attain full-time employment in manufacturing.

I need welding gear. This includes a welding helmet, flame-retardant jacket and gloves, as well as steel toe boots.

Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to use my own gear instead of borrowing from others, ensuring that it fits me properly and that it will not need to be replaced as quickly. Bringing my own gear to interviews also demonstrates that I am serious about my career to potential employers.

Michael came into our welding program through our Bridge program, a specialized reading and math program. He has shown great progress in his skills and takes great care to learn all he can as thoroughly as possible. I always get great feedback on Michael's attitude in class from our instructors.
