Living with MS & finally housed after homelessness; A bed will help reduce pain

Recently transitioned to a home after years of homelessness. A new bed will give me the rest I need to focus on my goals of work & school.

I needed a bed and 13 supporters later I have one. This site is a godsend. This site lets individuals post real life needs and give people the chance to hear that need and donate. This site and its donors are amazing. Thank you to all my supporters. Thank you to Benevolent for being a one of a kind site dedicated to real people's needs. You are making a difference one goal at a time. I appreciate you.

Overview

I'm a 40 year old woman living with multiple sclerosis. I've worked since the age of 16 years old, but am currently unable to work due to my disability. I was diagnosed with MS in February 2013. Since being diagnosed, I have been living shelter to shelter.

My goals are to finish school and, with the proper accommodations, be able to work again.

I need furniture after being transitioned into a place by COTS shelter. While the entire apartment is empty, a bed it the most important thing I need for my health.

Meeting this need will help me because a bed will reduce pain I have in my joints and bones. A bed will also allow me to be well-rested as I do day-to-day activities.

Deborah came into the center seeking help with furniture. Deborah has been transitioned by cots shelter who will also be assisting her with paying one year of rent. She has no furniture, and has been sleeping on the floor since getting her place on June 23, 2014. At this time she is living on a fixed income, and unable to afford to furnish her home. Deborah could really benefit from any assistance.
