I am currently living in a shelter because it is the safest option for me while I pick my life back up after leaving an unsafe situation. I had to leave everything behind and vacate my home. I am the mother of one son.

My goals are to become a licensed hairdresser. I love to do hair and am very good at it. I'd like to get my license so I can get jobs at local hair salons and increase my income so I can support my family.

I need clothes for myself and my son that that he is properly dressed for school and I look professional and presentable when applying for work/training positions. Experience will help me get my beauty license. Bus passes will also help me get to job/training opportunities and allow me to drop off and pick up my son from school.

Meeting this need will help me because it will allow me to look the part when looking for work and ensure my son is properly uniformed for school. Bus passes will help me get around town so that I can provide for my son and get to interviews, etc.

I have been working with Remy since she transitioned into a women's shelter this year. I have been helping her identify resources to get her back on her feet after leaving a bad situation at home. Since Remy had to leave everything behind she is in desperate need of professional attire and uniforms for her son. These items will help her secure a position where she can raise income for herself and to support her son.
