I need welding equipment and gas cards to get to and from my training. This will give me a career job with good money--better than I make now.

Tracy appreciates the fifteen generous supporters who helped fund her need for welding gear and gas cards. Validator Emily says: "It's great so many of our students have had needs met, they appreciate it so much!"

Overview

My equipment includes auto strike helmet, flame retardant weld jacket, gauntlet style weld gloves, metatarsal safety boots, and a head cover beanie. I also need gas cards to help me get to and from training. Four $25 gas cards will help me get to and from training for four weeks.

I go to school at JARC because I've always wanted a career job that paid good money. JARC was recommended to me through someone very special in my life and he is a pure example.

Right now, my biggest challenge is gas. The price of gas is so high, I have an old truck and I don't get good gas mileage. My truck needs work, but it gets me from point A to point B, and it's dependable, so it helps me.  Meeting this need will get me to my goal. I am gonna get to my goal, but it would be so nice to get there with no worries.

Meeting this need will help me because it would take a huge weight off my shoulders because I worry a lot about where I'm going to get gas from, and it's bad to drive on fumes.


My current situation is that I have to get to work, take my child to school, I have to come to school, then pick up my child from the babysitter, and it is difficult for me to travel. I do this five days a week.

I think of myself mostly as a positive person, a leader. I'm a go-getter and I'm a loving and caring mother. My kids are my life. I only have my baby at home and he is the reason why I live life so vibrantly. I live with my baby Darius ("the man in my life"). I have a beautiful nine year old whom I love and adore. He is everything good in my life, all this is for him.

I'm most proud of my children and myself. I have very educated children who live life to the fullest because I do it for them. I love life and I live it with love and my children too.

I love life and I like learning new things, I believe that I'm a creator.

I've worked at jobs including janitorial and security positions.

Tracy began the women's welding program at JARC at the beginning of October. The women's program takes a special kind of dedication to participate in. The program is 32 weeks long and all women must be working while attending training.

I think meeting this need is important because the personal protection equipment she requested is vital to her welding job search. Also, because of the length of her training program, it's difficult for Tracy to cover the gas expenses of getting to training and work every day.

This will move Tracy's life forward by helping her complete her training and secure a welding job. Tracy is very committed to completing her training and getting a job that will mean a better life for herself and her family.

Tracy is motivated by her children. Every day she works hard and is focused on taking care of them and providing for them the best she can.
