Jenes from Eldoret, CA

Mother of four; just $200 can help me get land and supplies to start a farm!

I have recently recovered from a fistula and learned farming and business skills. I want to start a farm to feed my children and send them to school.

My name is Jenes and I am a 33-year-old single mother of four and a fistula survivor. In 2011 I had a very difficult labor and it left me with a fistula. I was in pain, and I felt ashamed. My husband left me and our children. In 2013, I had two surgeries to repair my fistula. I am now dry and healed and eager to earn an income to support myself and my children.

My goal is to have a farm and grow crops to feed my family, and to sell the excess at market for income to pay my children’s school fees. I learned farming and business skills from an organization called Beyond Fistula.

I need funds ($200) to lease a plot of land and buy sugar, rice, corn, beans, and chickens. I already have a cow for milk.

Meeting this need will help me because I have all the farming and business training to make a living, I only need the land and supplies to get started. Once I am earning an income, I will be able to feed my children and pay their school fees.

Need funded!

Thank you for helping Jenes fund this need.
