Cindy from Chicago, IL

I lost all my furniture after a move. Need some basics to rebuild my home.

I need something to sit, sleep, and eat on so that I can have a comfortable and healthy home again.

Overview

I'm Cynthia, and I am 57 years old. I am disabled and I live on a fixed income. I am diabetic, and I am on dialysis. My daughter and my grandson and her fiance were living with me, they ended up moving out so they had to take all of their furniture. And I currently live in a low-income housing.

My goals are to one day get a kidney transplant, to get life insurance, and overall to be healthy.

I need the furniture because I need something to sit, sleep, and eat on. So hopefully one day I can invite people over, especially for the holidays coming up. And also not having to worry where my granddaughter has to sleep on.

Meeting this need will help me because not having furniture has made it difficult for me to bring any friends and family over. Especially when I have been using my bed to sleep, eat, watch tv and it being 25years old it has made it difficult for me and especially for my granddaughter coming over every weekend and I am tired of just living in my bedroom and my granddaughter seeing me live like this.

I have known Cindy because she has been coming into Center for Changing Lives to meet with our financial coach to work on how to save money to get insurance and also looking at the many options of insurance. Cindy has been coming in once a month for the past three months. I know that any help can really benefit her due to living in a low-housing income and dealing with dialysis due to diabetes and struggling with neuropathy on her feet. Cindy has been honest from the beginning and clear on what she is looking for and how any help will be greatly appreciated and it would be great to see her receive this help.
