A new stove will help me support myself through my cooking skills!

I've been through strife but I'm learning to build a life for myself. With a charcoal stove I can build my corn selling business.

Overview

I am 50 year old merchant and fistula survivor. I have been through an incredible amount of pain and difficulty surrounding childbirth, and because of a fistula I developed my husband left me.

My goals are to have a small business selling maize and tea. I had surgery in 2016 to repair my fistula, then in 2017 I completed a business skills training with a program called Beyond Fistula. Since then I have started earning as a merchant and I want to get my small business off the ground.

I need $200 to purchase a charcoal stove so that I can prepare my corn for customers. Now that my husband is gone after 30 years I am learning to support myself with my cooking skills.

Meeting this need will help me because I have already begun this small business, I just need a portable stove of my own to be able to prepare the corn. For now I am making a very small bit of money but not enough for one person to live on.

Amadi has pulled herself up after so many tough breaks. When she went through the business skills program in 2017, she was hardworking and motivated to support herself after her husband left. She has grown her idea into a small business and Beyond Fistula will continue to support her doing so.
