Overview
I am an Easterseals Participant enrolled in the SCSEP Community Service Program, scheduled to receive my program exit notification at the end of November.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in the Bronx, I am an avid reader of economics and a freelance copywriter, publicist and editor. I am hoping to work as a Publicist/Event Manager, but I need a computer to work from.
I have requested $430 to purchase a laptop computer to help me continue my employment search in order to achieve my professional goals either as a freelance or full-time employee. I would like to make a purchase of a $300 Acer laptop from Staples, and I am including in this price tag the cost to purchase a WiFi router for my home, first time setup of my laptop, and a carrying case. I am hoping buying from Staples can give me some guidance.
Meeting this need will help me attain these goals because my Senior Community Service Employment Program Funding is scheduled to end, and my discretionary income and savings have all been virtually depleted by Medical Expenses.
Also, it is true today that a Computer has become a matter of basic necessity in the Business World, and to part-time and full-time opportunities at Community Service and Non-Profit Agencies. It is therefore a need of utmost importance that I purchase a New Laptop Computer for the purpose of finding employment and pursuing career opportunities online to avoid the prospect of facing eviction.

I have been working with Wesley since I started at Easterseals earlier this year. Wes is talented and hard working. Despite having several barriers to employment Wes is positive and willing to learn. Wes is diligent with his work in his SCSEP training assignment; Wes is always on time and has never had a bad review. A laptop will definitely be of enormous help to him in both employ-ability and finding work in his field. For being given this Benevolent Opportunity I know he wishes to express his appreciation in advance to thank you for your kind generosity and goodwill in approving his funding request.
