Brooklyn

Brooklyn from Bronx, New York

Formerly homeless; I'm back on my feet, but I still need winter clothes.

I live in my small apartment with my service dog. With warm winter clothes, I'll be able to stay comfortable in the cold months to come.

Overview

I am a I am a 44-year-old survivor of domestic violence. Everything I had was lost due to homelessness. I am now proud to be back on my feet living safely in my own home and working with my counselor on new life goals. In order to pursue my goals, I need to replace the items that I lost when I was homeless. I very much need winter clothing (winter boots, coat, clothing, etc.). I live in a small, cute apartment in New York City. I worked very hard to get this apartment. I am legally disabled and live with my service dog, Levi. I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Levi amazes me every day with what he is trained to do.

I have a huge love of animals. My goal is to form a community of women with PTSD who are in need of service dogs.

I need funding so that I can buy warm winter clothes and shoes to keep warm.

Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to stay warm this winter.
