Ron from Charlotte, NC

I'm a fiber optics graduate in need of reliable transportation to accept a full time job offer.

I need help with obtaining reliable transportation to be used for a job I've been offered that requires that I have my own transportation.

This has really been a blessing! Feb 25, 2014

First I would like to Thank all those who have contributed to my cause, and I would also like to thank the people at the Urban League and the staff with Benevolent. Special thanks to Takisha Jones because without her I would have never known about benevolent so I thank all those who contributed and help me get and raise the money to get this vehicle. This has really been a blessing and I hope that all those who help me achieve this receive a blessing in return. May the lord watch over you and keep you, thank you again for your help.

Thanks for giving HOPE... Feb 10, 2014

I wanted to take the time to thank Benevolent for helping Ron with his need. Ron has been very patient since his request for assistance with his car, but what is funny is that I just saw Ron last week and he stated that he has been saving to get a car since his need wasn't met. He basically lost hope :( and started to make other plans to get him a vehicle. I explained to him how the process works, how we have to wait on donors to donate to his need, and how he should never lose HOPE because with Prayer and a little faith anything is possible. And Thanks to Benevolent, the donors, and HLN the need was met in 25 mins after speaking on his need live.

Thanks for keeping HOPE alive for my client Ron. I'm excited about getting more clients connected to this amazing organization. Thanks for your love and support!!!!

Overview

My family has chipped in to help me purchase a vehicle so I can accept a position I've been offered, but I need to come up with the remainder amount.  If this need is met, it will mean that I will be working full time, have personal transportation, be self-sufficient and maybe help someone else in need.

My goal is to work full time, period! With the funds I have and what I will receive from you, I can purchase the vehicle needed to work and stay working for the foreseeable future.

I moved here in July, took the fiber optics class here and am working part-time, but am currently doing satellite installation on a training basis. I need a vehicle to work full time.

Less than a year ago I was locked up for something I didn't do, but though faith and truth and determination, I have made a way for myself. That has truly been a blessing.

I'm orgininally from Brooklyn, NY. I love to do creative writing (books/novels). I'm happiest when I'm working full time. I'm most proud of how far I've come ina  short amount of time; the hard work I've put in to get to where I am from prison to learning  trade/skill set to make myself an employable person fro society - changing my life in a more postive way and allowing Christ to lead me down a righteous path. The love of my Lord and family has been a positive influence in my life.

I want people to know that with faith in Christ and determination, you can acheive anything, no matter what your past is like or what you've done in your life.

I met Ron through our fiber optics program. He's someone that has had a lot of doors slammed in his face due to him having a criminal background.

I think meeting this need is important because it will help him become full time employed. Having a reliable car, especially when it's needed for the job would give him the opportunity to really become self-sufficient.

Ron is someone that has the opportunity to take a second chance in his life and he has made and is making all the necessary steps to have a better future for himself.
