Overview
I am a mother of four trying to get back on my feet after being incarcerated. I have made some mistakes, learned from my actions and really want to move forward. I have been trying to find employment for the last year and only been able to work on short assignments through a staffing agency. I joined the CNC Fast Track Program at JARC because machine operating is a career path that I can have a future in.
I really want to be able get back to the point I was at before my incarceration. I want to be able to provide for my family, have a career and continue to learn skills that will help me professionally.
I need a metrology kit to ensure that I stay well trained in using tools relevant in the field of manufacturing. It is really important to being able to use precise measuring tools in order to obtain and keep employment. I also need work clothes to start on a new job.
Having a metrology kit will allow me to practice and develop my skills so that I can gain employment and move up. Once I am working, it will take a lot of stress off my partner who is the sole provider for our four children. It will bring peace of mind to be able to pay the bill and know that our lights will not get turned off this month.

I interviewed Jessica for our CNC Fast Track Program back in March. She was extremely well spoken, intelligent and very motivated to get into our program. I knew that she would be a great candidate for our program because her criminal history was really her only barrier to employment. After only about 6 weeks into our program, our employer partners are already showing interest in her. If she is able to stay current on her measuring skills by getting a metrology kit and gets some clothes to start working, I know she will find a job soon and move up in whatever company she ends up working for.
