Overview

I'm moving out of homelessness and finally have a key in my pocket! I'm 44 years old and I have been living on the streets for 3 years. I now have an apartment through the transitional living program at Northwest Compass.

I'm a little bit of an introvert and I love films. Watching movies and analyzing them is a big part of my life. While I am working, I am also aiming towards my goal of finishing a degree in film editing. My hope is to work in post production someday.

It's such a blessing to have a roof over my head. I'm asking for assistance in getting getting my '94 car repaired. The brakes are no longer working the way they should and the winter is soon approaching.

Meeting this need will help me because it will allow me to continue paying my rent without falling behind due to the high cost of car repairs. Also, it will allow me to continue going to work and pursuing my education.

I have known Cedric through the Transitional Living Program here at Northwest Compass. The Transitional Living Program assists working homeless individuals and families. The program provides safe housing, guidance, and helps participants to gain control of their finances, learn new life and money management skills, and set goals to achieve greater self-determination and independence. I have worked with Cedric through Solution-Focused Case Management, and he is constantly striving to become a better person. Cedric has been homeless for many years, and he finally has a place to call home due to his perseverance. He is also trying to pursue a career in film editing.
