My job title is Advocate.
My work involves meeting one-on-one with community members to develop short-term and/or long-term goals that we continually work towards. These goals often fall under the areas of housing, employment, basic needs, public benefits, education, etc.
What I like most about my job is the collaborative and personal atmosphere. Our members are more than just a number or a name. We build human relationships and work together to achieve the goals that they set. They never fail to tell us that coming into the office allows them to be heard, and statements like this are the most rewarding because it reminds us that we truly do make a difference in the lives of people who need it the most.

LIFT-Chicago- LIFT’s mission is to help community members achieve economic stability and well-being. We are working to establish a new standard for holistic and enduring solutions in our country’s fight against poverty.
