Amelia
I work in the Employment Services Department as a Career Specialist Intern. I have been here for 8 months and will be here until September 2015. The employment services department works with individuals who are experiencing a disability, and/or homeless. We also work with individuals who identify as transgender or gender non-conforming. Our work includes: resume/cover letter writing, job coaching, mock interviews, training, , post employment support and referrals to housing, medical care and case management. What motivates me is through getting to know my clients and their stories, I can see how hard they work and how validating having a job would be for them. My goal is to have my clients suitably housed and employed in locations that affirm their identities.
