Doug from Chicago, IL

Formerly homeless veteran. Bus passes will allow me to begin my job training program.

I'm starting a 4-month A+ Certification program. I need bus passes to make it there to start my career in Information Technology.

My need and situation

I am a previously homeless veteran attending classes for my IT Certification on a tight budget. Working with CCL has been a blessing that has inspired me to do 'more' with my life. Getting these skills will help me raise my family and be a more productive member to society.

My goals are finishing school to get my ITCertification, finding work in the field and continuing to find educational opportunities.

I desperately need to public transportation needs met for the 4 month A+ Certification Program. Right now, I'm unable to make it to the program due to the distance from where I live.

Meeting this need will help me because it will guarantee that while in school I will be able to get there. CCL has been kind enough to have me in this school. Thank you!

I know Doug through working with him as Employment Coach at the Center for Changing Lives. He has been very dedicated in his search for employment, and is about to begin our A+ certification program that will help him gain entry level work in the IT field. Doug is extremely excited about beginning this course because it will mean that he can gain an entry level job in the IT field, and make a living wage. This will allow him to support his family, who are extremely important to him. It would be great to see Doug receive transportation assistance, so he does not have to worry how he will get to and from class everyday. This will help him focus more on his studies.
