David from Baltimore, MD

I'm entering a new career! Required textbooks are all I need to get there.

I'm starting as an apprentice, which makes it t difficult for me to pay for the books I need to complete my program.

I am a recent graduate of the welding program at Jane Addams Resource Corporation. I was able to gain two certifications in SMAW in the vertical and overhead positions. Upon my completion I was accepted into the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union.

My goals are to complete the Plumbers and Steamfitters 5 year Journeyman Program that I was accepted into, in order to become licensed in Plumbing, as well as, HVACR. The program is set up for me to get 8,000 on the job hours while going to school 2 nights a week and some Saturdays.

I need $370 for books for the year. Of course with me just starting to work as of July 19, 2016 it is difficult for me to come up with that amount money right now.

Meeting this need will help me because it will allow me to complete the program and begin my dreams of being a certified journeyman. Therefore I have asked for some assistance from JARC in order to help me get started on my new career path. They have been wonderful and also a blessing to not only me but everyone that has come through these doors and completed the program. Thank you for everything.

David Green was a student in my Fundamental Class and extraordinary trainee in the JARC program. David was always upbeat and motivated. He excelled in the welding program and gained entry into a journeyman career path. David works very hard and is deserving of the additional help to obtain his necessary school books to complete journeyman training.
