It's hard to find a job on little sleep. Help buying a bed would make a big difference!

It's hard to look for work and attend meetings when you're tired from sleeping on the floor. You can help!

My need and situation

I am a 41 year old man who has battled abuse and neglect for most of my childhood. I would numb the pain of the memories since childhood with alcohol. I am currently sober, and fighting every day to stay that way. I am married now, and my wife has given me a reason to have something to live for again.

My goals are to give my wife and myself a better life. I have finally started working on ways to be a better man by getting help, and have begun to look for work, as well as continuing with my programs to help with my sobriety.

I need a bed for me and my wife. Our blow-up bed broke so we sleep on the floor now. I am going on job interviews and focusing on my sobriety, but a bed would help as I work on progressing myself.

Meeting this need will help me because having a good night's sleep in a bed can prepare me for a better day. Being able to look for work and focus on staying healthy would be easier with a good night's sleep. I believe everyone deserves at least a bed.

My client came to me as a man who was broken, and wouldn't stop drinking. A few months later he is on the road to sobriety, and going to all his meetings. He is happy and looking for work. I see a new man as I am proud and impressed. While doing house visits, I noticed he and wife sleep on the floor. I would love to see him have at least a bed.
