Luke from Detroit, MI

A working fridge & stove will help me stay positive & healthy as an amputee.

I'm limited to what I can make without a working fridge & stove. These items will help me continue to work towards a healthy & productive life.

Updates

Luke has received his stove & fridge & says he's "Eating Healthy Feeling Great!" Jan 20, 2015

I feel so blessed to have my need funded through the Benevolent site. It is a very rewarding and humbling feeling to know that there are people in this world who still care about others. I feel so blessed to be able to eat right. I have been limited to cooking and eating what I can make on top of my stove despite my health issues. It is because of this site and its donors that I am able to live a healthier life style for my children and myself.

My need and situation

I'm a 47 year old divorced father of two. I'm also an above-the-knee amputee. I lost my leg in 1996 while being a vendor at the Olympics in Atlanta GA. After an 18-wheeler truck driver feel asleep behind the wheel.

My goals are to be successful in life as a entrepreneur. My ambitions are to help those around me by starting a manufacturing company.

I need a refrigerator and stove at this time.

Meeting this need will help me because my refrigerator door is broken and spoiling good food. My oven is also not working at this time. All cooking is being done on the stove burners. And due to my health I need baked foods in my diet - not fried - but I'm limited to what I can make at this time because of my appliances.

Need funded!

Thank you for helping Luke fund this need.

I met Luke when he came in to the center looking to find resources for some of his various needs. Luke is disabled and living on a fixed income. Any help you are able to give will go a long way, and be appreciated a great deal.
