Overview

I am a 53-year-old fry cook looking to change careers. I recently fell on hard times financially, so I am currently enrolled in an IT course hoping to improve my life by switching fields and becoming a better citizen.

My goals are to gain employment in the IT Customer Service field with a large technology company. I'm excited for the opportunity to fix computers and work with people. With this career change, I can find better housing and more job opportunities.

I need to take the CompTIA A+ exam and have access to affordable public transportation. Once I pass the exam, I will be closer to reaching my goals. I am currently working part-time, and my hours have been cut now that I'm in class. My two-hour work commute is expensive and eats most of my paycheck, so raising the money for my exam fee and travel expenses would help ease a heavy burden.

Meeting this need will help me because passing the exam will help me find a better job so I can get better housing, pay back my bills, and live with fewer worries. I'm excited to embark on my career change!
