I am a survivor of domestic violence. A laptop will help me move forward.

My goal is to use the laptop to help single mothers in my building and my community, who, like me, struggle on a daily basis to make ends meet.

Overview

I am a single mother of four and also a domestic violence survivor who previously homeless. I was fortunate enough to be accepted by an organization called BFL ( Barrier Free Living) who assist people with Domestic Violence, Mental Health, and Substance abuse in moving in a supportive housing apartment building. And although I am finally in my own place I still struggle financially to support my family. So I began couponing as a way of saving money for my family and household and in doing this I have saved greatly! So I thought why not teach others like me or my community how to coupon so they too can save. So I began teaching a class once a week in my building on Wednesdays.

My goal is to help single mothers in my building and my community, who, like me, struggle on a daily basis to make ends meet. I would like to teach more than just single mothers I would like to eventually branch out with my class and teach anyone in my community like community centers, libraries, shelters, Domestic Violence shelters etc how to save money with coupons. As we all know that in this economy now we are all a pay check away from being homeless.

I need a: -Laptop (Refurbished Dell is OK) -Wireless Printer -(5) Ink Cartridges (Black and White ONLY) -(1) Box of Paper (8 1/2 x 11) -Coupon binders (3) -Pocket accordions (1 case) -Paper Cutter

Meeting this need will help me because I can use these resources to help teach others not only to save money but to prioritize and organize their finances. Saving on groceries can help them pay other things they need that they normally would not be able to obtain because they just don't have enough money. The impact of saving and feeling like you have resources to help better yourself can make a world of a difference.
