Overview
My situation is an unfortunate one. It's one of those where you feel like you're taking two steps forward and three steps back. Things just happened and I hit a bump in the road. I want people to know that I have a strong work ethic and I want to remain consistent and stay out of trouble.
My goal is to complete the program at Jane Addams Resource Corporation (JARC) and work in manufacturing. I want to work in order to start saving money and gain experience in the industry so I can relocate and get out of the violence in my neighborhood. JARC provides workforce development training to underemployed adults. This training has the potential to change my life, but it is a long commute to JARC through unsafe parts of Chicago.
I want get my car fixed so I can make it to class. I don't feel safe taking public transportation to class, which is why I prefer driving. I know I will make it safely.
Meeting this need will help bring me one step closer to completing training. Even if it's a little bit, it will be a huge help.

I have known Marcus for about 1 year now. I really cannot say enough about Marcus' initiative and drive while at JARC. I've helped him go through the process of applying for SNAP benefits. It would be great to see him receive this financial assistance.
