Overview

I am a lead singer in a rock band that I created in Chicago 5 years ago. I initially started as a jazz vocalist but began self-teaching different styles of singing in this band. I am now seeking to take my vocal training to the next level by working with a trained coach.

My goals are to do a Midwest tour with the band and be able to perform professionally all over. I work with a lot of local organizations empowering girls and women and we want to really bring more focus to women of color in the rock-metal genre of music.

I need 3-4 months of vocal coaching to jump start my training. The vocal trainer is specialized in metal vocal training and can provide professional guidance so that I do not injure my voice.

Meeting this need will help me because performing at the Taste of Chicago later this year is a big opportunity and additional coaching to prepare for this and future shows will really help the trajectory of my career.

Center for Changing Lives has been working with Goldie on her employment and financial coaching. She has been working part-time while attending dance/vocal classes and performing shows as often as possible. She is an advocate and mentor for girls and women of color in Chicago and is a great role model. Helping to advance her vocal ability by fulfilling this need will assist in her ability to perform more shows and work on more opportunities.
