Overview
Donations to this need will be used to purchase food, diapers, and hygiene products for the clients in need, including cost of delivery if necessary. Meeting this need will allow parents and caregivers to feed and care for their children and grandchildren, and to remain healthy during this unprecedented economic and public health crisis.
Among items that are desperately needed at Easterseals Community Outreach are cereal, jelly, cheese, sugar, flour and canned meals.
Additionally, the two main grocery stores that serve the Port Jervis community have run out of diapers. Many food bank clients are grandparents taking care of infants and young children; most do not drive and cannot search for these items.
Finally, laundry soap, bar soap, shampoo, hand wipes and feminine products are among the items of most critical need.
Donations will help families like that of Donna Brewster. “We’re all just really scared,” said Donna, who has a four-year-old son. When she needs food assistance she turns to Community Outreach, which throughout the COVID-19 crisis has been providing her with eggs, meat, cereal and vegetables.
