Many individuals across the country are struggling as they care for a loved one with dementia. The day to day challenges are immense and many caregivers relied on their network of support to make it through the very difficult times. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted our lives in ways that would have been unimaginable only a few weeks ago. Consider Albert, an 80 year old caregiver to his 79 year old wife of 60 years, who was diagnosed with Dementia three years ago. Or Shirley, struggling to manage the increasingly demanding behavior of her husband—diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 5 years ago.

ReServe’s Dementia Care Coaching program was developed exactly for this purpose. To teach caregivers how to manage the challenges of caring for their loved one. Our Dementia Care Coaches bring years of experience and a deep knowledge of the stages of dementia to help family members and caregivers in this challenging journey by offering compassion, support, empathy, and guidance. With so many cut off from support networks, a connection with a reassuring Dementia Care Coach can make a big difference.

As social distancing challenges in-person meetings for the foreseeable future, ReServe is moving all of our services to our telehealth secure platforms. We need your help to provide service to those in need. Every $25 donated will allow for an hour telehealth consultation with a family looking for support and guidance; our goal is to raise enough to supply four hours of coaching to 50 families.

ReServe’s Dementia Care Coaches are certified, highly experienced individuals who have a passion to provide guidance to families across the State on techniques and knowledge in caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. Unfortunately, not every family can afford this service on their own. Any donations will make a big difference in the life of a family in need of guidance.
