Daniel from Chicago, IL

Working and going to school. I need textbooks to complete my classes and graduate.

I am working hard toward a college education, but textbooks are expensive! I need help purchasing them so I can earn my degree.

Overview

I am a student at Harold Washington College and I'm looking forward to getting my degree! I am currently working part time and trying to find full-time work that fits around my busy school schedule.

My goals are to complete school and earn my degree. I also one day would like to start my own business.

I need help covering the rest of the cost for my textbooks. Without these, it will be very hard for me to complete my classes so that I can graduate and start my career.

Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to study the materials and be the best student I can be. I want to work hard for a good education to become successful, and this would be a big step toward getting myself there.

I've known Daniel since August of 2015, this is when he came to North Side Housing and Supportive Services and I became his case manager. Since I have known Daniel he has been very determined to find work, get back in school, and find a home. He has worked hard filling out applications for work (he now works part time) and filling out wait list applications that become available also. He has also enrolled in classes again to further his career.
