Check out Amel's new digs! Mar 13, 2017
Amel reached out to us to share some photos of the kitchen table and futon she was able to purchase thanks to her Benevolent supporters. Amel said, "thanks so much for helping me!"
Overview
I am a 50-year-old utility clerk at The University of Chicago. I've been there a little over two months. I went through the Cara program.
My goals are to grow with the company and to maintain my full-time job and one day go back to college when time permits.
I need a sofa bed, kitchen table and chairs, and a few household items.
This is my first apartment since being homeless for over one year.
Meeting this need will help me because it will allow me to become more self-sufficient in my living arrangement and I would be able to focus on my job duties by getting a good night of sleep on a regular basis.
Need funded!
Thank you for helping Amel fund this need.

Each need is validated by a nonprofit that knows the person and can verify that the help is necessary. Funds flow from Benevolent to the nonprofit, which then gets them to the person in need and lets us know how it went.

I've known Amel for over six months now. She came in our program with an agenda to succeed. I'm here to say that she did that. She embraced and passed all of our classes and now she's a working woman. How amazing is that? I believe by helping her with her need she will be very grateful.
