Overview

I am a 59-year-old dishwasher. I am studying to enter the Information Technology field, and gain an entry level position as a help desk technician. I am currently working with the Center for Changing Lives to obtain a CompTIA A+ certification, which is an entry level IT credential.

My goals are to enjoy a successful career in Information Technology. All my life I had intensive low-paying labor jobs with no opportunity to grow because of my limited skills. Working in IT would allow me to use my mind more rather than hard manual labor. Also, the IT field is a growing industry where I believe I can excel!

I need a laptop to to be able to do my school work, and have mobile internet access. having access to my own computer will also benefit me in my job search.

Meeting this need will help me because it will save me a lot of time which I could use to study. Now I have to go to the library or other places to use their computers, and I am limited by the hours they are open and the availability of the computers. I have a lot of time at home that I could be using to do work.

I have been work with Harvey since the summer of 2016. He has been one of the most dedicated clients that I have worked with. He knows what his goals are, and will not let anything get in the way of accomplishing those goals. having a laptop of his own would help Harvey because he would not have to travel as much to study, and he would be able to study when he is at home.
