Overview
I am a Veteran originally from Detroit, but have called Chicago home for 30 years. I'm a father and grandfather and enjoy spending time with my family when I can make out to Detroit for a visit.
My goals are join a senior health club and quit smoking cigarettes. I'm committed to living a healthy lifestyle and I'm focused on achieving these goals.
I need household essentials and furniture because I just received a voucher for Veteran housing in Chicago. I have some of my belongings in storage, but I need a few pieces of furniture to help make my new apartment a comfortable home.
Meeting this need will help me because I'm on a limited income. Having all my household essentials will mean I get a good night's rest, and can work on my healthy living goals as well.

I've known Kenny for about 7 years, having worked with him at a previous social service center setting. Kenny has been coming to the EDSSC for several years, and has always been a pleasure to catch up with. He is consistently working on achieving new goals, and we're excited he has a new housing opportunity. Helping Kenny with his need will allow him to make his new apartment a comfortable home, and he will be able to focus his time on working on healthy living goals.
