Overview
I am a I am a 44-year-old survivor of domestic violence. Everything I had was lost due to homelessness. I am now proud to be back on my feet living safely in my own home and working with my counselor on new life goals. In order to pursue my goals, I need to replace the items that I lost when I was homeless. I very much need winter clothing (winter boots, coat, clothing, etc.).
I live in a small, cute apartment in New York City. I worked very hard to get this apartment. I am legally disabled and live with my service dog, Levi. I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Levi amazes me every day with what he is trained to do.
I have a huge love of animals. My goal is to form a community of women with PTSD who are in need of service dogs.
Meeting this need will help me because I will have proper attire for the upcoming winter season. I am looking forward to getting back the items I lost while homeless (especially a warm coat). Thank you for your support.

I have been Vanessa's social worker for around a year and a half, helping her work towards her goals and ambitions. I am proud of her. She is a thoughtful and determined person, and has come a long way. She is dedicated and has a deep love for her service dog, and she would be a great asset in giving her time in helping other women with service dogs.
