Basic furniture will help me thrive on my path out of homelessness.

Having just recovered from a period of homelessness, I need furniture and basic household items to provide a proper day-to-day living environment.

Overview

I am a 40 year old mother of two boys recovering from a bout of homelessness that lasted five and a half years. Having secured permanent housing, I am looking forward to starting over.

My goals are to be reunited with my sons and provide an environment which exceeds expectations for their custody. Despite being a survivor of domestic violence, the court failed to enforce an order of protection judgement for me and my sons. As a consequence custody was granted to the abuser due to his position as a federal officer (TSA Agent). Since then he has been in repeated violations of the court (contempt etc) and this is a chance for me to regain the just custody of my children.

I need furniture and other household accessories to provide a proper day-to-day living environment. Having just recovered from a period of homelessness, the accessories in the apartment are extremely sparse. Items such as a bed, nightstands, coffee table, among other things will be purchased with your generous donation.

Meeting this need will help me because the only thing that has helped me persevere through the last several years is my quest to be reunited with my sons and to be a family once more.
