Ready to start work as an electrician! Need my brakes fixed to make it to work.

In order to successfully perform my duties as a Labor Trainee with Local 134, I will need the brake system on my car fixed so that my car is reliable.

Overview

Hi Everyone! I’m a Jane Addams Metal (JARC) Trades Student learning about Computer Numerical Control Machines. After several months of studying, I have earned a National Institute Metalworking Skills 1 certification.

My career goal is to become an Electrician with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 134 in Cook County, Illinois. I have been accepted into Local 134 as a Labor Trainee, which is one development pathway for becoming an Electrical Worker Apprentice. My short-term goal is to join Local 134 by working as a Labor Trainee until I can apply for the Apprenticeship at IBEW Local 134.

In order to successfully perform my duties as a Labor Trainee with Local 134, I will need the brake system on my car fixed so that my car is reliable transportation to the various work sites around Cook County, of which some are not accessible by public transportation.

If I had a reliable car for work, then these things would allow me to reach my short-term and career goals of joining Local 134 and becoming a master electrician.

I have known Christopher for about six months now. He made an effort to meet outside of my financial and digital literacy classes to work with me on polishing his resume and LinkedIn profile. Since joining JARC, he has been focusing on and researching his new career path. I have been impressed with Christopher's dedication, kindness, and dependability, and it would be great to see him receive this financial assistance.
