Overview

I need welding gear to gain employment and financial stability. This includes steel toed boots, welding jacket, helmet, gloves, cap, safety glasses, welding sleeves, and pliers.

My goal is to complete my certifications at the Jane Addams Resource Corporation and find a job that will bring me financial stability. I am a middle-aged man trying to fulfill a dream of prosperity through a career in welding. I've had some growing pains in life and it helped me build my character. My skills are improving every day and I am learning how to be patient.

My current situation is that I have a part time job working 2 hours a day. I cannot afford to buy my own welding equipment which affects my chances of being hired for a job. Right now, my biggest challenge is that I sometimes face a lot of negativity that prevents me to be motivated, but I know in the back of my mind that I have a goal and I want to succeed in my endeavors. Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to go to interviews and show employers that I am qualified and ready for the job.

I am 50 years old and I have had low paying jobs most of my life. I have had the opportunity to get training at JARC and was very grateful for the chance to build myself. I thank the people that have helped me on my journey in my life. I have learned something from everyone. I think of myself mostly as a survivor. I have had to re-invent myself in order to live on this earth with others. I'm most proud of helping a classmate get his driver's license, helping my mom shopping on Saturdays, going to church on Sundays, and helping people that are less fortunate than me. I've worked at jobs including security guard and parking attendant. Something interesting about me is I work hard to be a better person every day.

I have known Phillip since October 2012 when he enrolled at Jane Addams Resource Corporation. I think meeting this need is important because Phillip needs the confidence to switch his career and having his own welding gear will really make a difference for him. This will move Phillip's life forward by assisting him in finding gainful employment and having the confidence to walk into an interview being prepared. Phillip is a sincere and honest person. He is optimistic and eager to learn. He is excited and quite brave to make a career change into welding. He was honest about his doubts in the beginning but has realized his passion for welding and he is very good at it!
