Pamela: "So grateful to you" Dec 9, 2020

Thank you for helping me and my family. Your help will give me a corn grinder and this will bring money we need. Fistula was a dark path and I am so grateful to be healed, and now grateful for your good heart. Thank you.

Overview

I am a 57 year old mother of 7, farmer, and fistula survivor. 8 years ago I was pregnant for an 8th time but the birth was difficult and I lost the baby and noticed I was leaking afterward. I didn't know what was wrong with me, so I didn't tell anyone but my husband. I almost never left the house for 8 years, until recently when I had surgery to repair the issue.

My goal is to buy a corn grinding machine to grind my own corn and sell the services to others. I hope to make a better future for my children this way. My husband and I have been supporting our family by farming for many years, but barely earning enough to feed all of us.

I need $300 to buy a corn grinding machine. This technology will help me provide a needed service for my community so that I can have a stable income to support my family.

Meeting this need will help me because I am finally healed and out of isolation. I worked so hard to hide my fistula from my community and I was very lonely. Now I feel more dignity and want to participate in my village as a businesswoman.

Pamela is a skilled and experienced farmer who suffered greatly with her fistula. Now that she has had reparative surgery, she is able and eager to fully work the farm to support her family. I have seen her ambition and her commitment to her children. Pamela is remarkable and Beyond Fistula will continue to provide support as she moves forward after her fistula.
