I'm starting a business-- I have clients lined up. I need help to buy supplies!

I want to start a braiding business. I've got potential clients who want me to braid their hair; I just need help with startup costs to get going!

Overview

I am a 31 year-old single mother. I am currently unemployed, trying to start a hair braiding business. I've been trying to obtain employment, I went through FedCap's employment program.

My goals are to be a hair braiding stylist and to own my own shop in the future. I am really passionate about braiding hair, creating different designs and hair styles is what makes me happy. I love when my work makes women feel confident about their beauty.

In order to start my own hair braiding business, I need business cards to help with promotion, hair dryers, rubber bands, hair beads, hair gel, shampoo, conditioner, hair grease, hair combs, hair rollers, and hair extensions. I have potential clients that would like to get their hair done by me; however, I am still missing the resources and supplies to fully get my business started.

Meeting this need will help me because it will help me do what I love while also being able to financially support myself and my children. Once I receive the funding and supplies I need to start my business, I will finally be able to have the financial stability I have always wanted for me and my family.

I have known Blue through the Department of Probation. I have been working with this hard-working young lady for almost a year now and have watched her continuously trying to obtain employment and have watched her struggle to get a decent job considering she has a criminal record. She is an abuse survivor and has been taking care of her four children on her own. While she has been on probation, she has not obtained any new arrests or has had any issues. She has always been honest and clear on what her goals are and has never given up on herself or her family. It will be great to see Blue receive the funding she needs to get her hair braiding business started as she is a hard worker and I know she can achieve her dreams with a little help.
