Overview
I'm from Mobile, Alabama but I now live in Detroit. My daughter was an honor student and even won the Obama Presidential Award in Junior High School. I then fell on hard times when I had to have surgery two years ago on my sinuses. My illness was life altering and affected my employment and financial situation. My daughter's life changed as well. She now attends a cyber school in which all assignments and special projects are online. She is struggling in this new school and is unable to complete the work that is required. Her grades have drastically dropped as a result.
My goal is to increase my daughter's academic performance and her chances of receiving scholarships to assist us in paying for her college education. I have a limited income so this would be a huge help.
My daughter needs a laptop computer. Right now she is having some trouble at school and needs a computer to bring her grades back up and become an Honor Roll Student again.
Meeting this need will help me because it will provide my daughter with the necessary technology at home to complete her school work/homework, special projects and enable my daughter to improve her grades, becoming an honor student again.

Learn more »We met when I was substituting as a Teacher's Assistant for our after school program in which his daughter is an active participant. I was re-aquainted with Mr. Roberts last month at a parent meeting.
I think meeting this need is important because Mr. Roberts' daughter will be able to access her class work, assignments, internet and complete any special projects. His daughter will be able to improve her grades and make a successful transition from high school to college. Mr. Roberts will be able to access his daughter's grades, as well as communicate more efficiently and effectively with his daughters teachers.
