Arnetta from Detroit, MI

I need car repairs so I can still take my son to treatments for sickle-cell anemia.

I need brake and other repairs so I can get my son to his doctor's appointments, my children to school & make it to my new job on time.

Thank you for your support - it means so much to me and my son! This has been a tough journey for my family, but the gift of a safe car will help ease the situation. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness!

Overview

My name is Arnetta, I am 38 years old, and a single mother of six children. My 19 year old child has been diagnosed with sickle-cell anemia. After being unemployed for one year, I am now working at the non-profit The Empowerment Plan.

My education is extremely important to me and my family, so right now I want to focus on going back to school to get my GED. Then, I would like to follow my dream and pursue a degree in Radiology. I also want to move into my own home with my family. Most importantly, I wish I could find a cure for my son with sickle-cell anemia.

I need brake repairs, a tune-up, battery, and an oil change.

Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to get my son to his doctor's appointments, my children to school, and I will be able to continue providing for my family by getting to work on time. Getting funding for my car will help me move forward in my life and help me be the best mother, employee, and women I can be!

I know Arnetta through working at The Empowerment Plan. It has been truly incredible seeing Arnetta grow both as an expert seamstress and an independent, strong woman. When Arnetta first join The Empowerment Plan, she had no background in sewing and now because of her hard work and determination, she has been promoted to our Quality Specialist. Arnetta is a true leader and values her education and I know that funding this need would help her reach her goals.
