Learning to be a CNC machinist. All I need are a few tools and I'll be ready to work!

With a metrology kit and a cell phone, I can get a job. I'll be able to prepare for interviews and get in contact with prospective employers.

Sylus Update Mar 6, 2015

Sylus really appreciates the work gear that he was able to get with Benevolent funding. He has completed the CNC Fast Track Training.

Overview

I am a student shift supervisor at JARC ( Jane Addams Resource Corporation) working toward my milling and turning credential.

My main goal is to get a job and start working in the CNC field. While working, I plan to continue my education and gain more CNC credentials to grow in my career.

I am currently in work release and taking the CNC Fast Track Training Course at JARC. I will start work soon. I am seeking funds for a metrology kit and a cell phone for work.

Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to practice my precision measuring before interviews. The phone will allow me to keep in contact with employers.

I have known Sylus for several months. He is a very hard working and dedicated person. Sylus first impressed me when he spoke about the CNC program to a group of visitors touring the JARC Training Center. Sylus has done an excellent job explaining the program to visitors and mentoring his peers in the program. Sylus is enthusiastic about working as a CNC operator. He is a very dependable student and will be a real asset at any company that he ends up working for. Sylus has worked hard and achieved a lot. He has the skills and personality to get a great job in the Manufacturing Industry. Now he needs to get some supplies that will help him practice for interviews and obtain a job.
